Welcome to the Maritz Lab in the Department of Biodiversity & Conservation Biology at the University of the Western Cape. We are interested in understanding the functional roles of snakes in African ecosystems. Our research spans multiple biomes and includes a wide diversity of snake species. Through our research and outreach initiatives, we strive to facilitate the conservation of snakes by raising awareness, appreciation, and overall understanding.
